Developing an autonomous vehicle is a complicated prospect. We’re looking for an experienced product manager to help develop our Autonomous Vehicle Simulation environment that helps power the autonomy and related software systems aboard Lyft’s autonomous vehicles. You will work in close partnership with the respective engineering teams and will help design, implement, and maintain the virtual world in which both augmented real-world data and synthetically generated data are used to help accelerate the training, prototyping, and validation of autonomous vehicles.

Completely own your team's products, existing or new, from ideation, through development, to launch, growth and maintenance
Communicate clearly roadmaps, priorities, experiments, and decisions across a wide spectrum of audiences from partner teams to executive levels
Drive the technical direction of the visualization platform that’s used by the Level 5 organization
Conceptualize simulation framework and architecture, such as 3D virtual environments to simulate autonomous vehicles in realistic situations, from intersection scale to city scale
Drive simulation testing, development, and automation of real-world data and synthetically generated data to help accelerate autonomy software development
Own integration of simulation with regression testing frameworks running at scale, making it an integral part of autonomy software development
Work cross-functionally with other teams to help enable speed and scale of simulation and autonomy software development
Experience & Skills
2+ years of product management experience, having shipped technology products
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with at least two years of relevant professional experience
Knowledge of software development capabilities, preferably in C++
Experience with visual tools, frameworks, or UIs used to support engineering development
Experience in one of the following areas:
Helping build native developer tools
Experience with physical system modeling and simulation
Automotive software development or similar domains
Thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative work environment where your impact is highly visible
Passionate about autonomous vehicle technology and its potential to improve the world
Nice to Have
Experience in robotics, real-time systems, embedded system, human-computer interaction, or self-driving technologies
Working knowledge of various sensor technologies including camera, radar, LiDAR, ultrasonic, and vehicle state sensors
Experience developing virtual world environment for games, such as Lumberyard, Unity3d, Unreal, CryEngine and / or other world simulation environments
Experience with graphics APIs and frameworks such as OpenGL, DirectX, or Vulkan
