Essential Job Functions:

We are looking for a part time (~20 hrs/week) Accounting Clerk to perform basic accounting tasks and who is excited to learn how a professional service firm operates. Through efficiency and by leveraging technology, our Finance team ensures Future State has the financial infrastructure and information to support our extraordinary client service. This is an in-office role located in Oakland, CA. Success Factors:

A successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

·         1-2 years of accounting experience which resulted in knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles

·         Hands on experience with spreadsheets and financials reports

·         Intermediate-level skill in MS Excel (we will provide a test on this)

·         Intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness, willingness to push yourself, effective collaboration and communication

·         Proven track record of dependability and productivity

·         Enthusiasm and proficiency in learning new software tools

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Ensure our vendors, partners and employees are paid accurately and timely through processing of AP and expense reports

·         Record recurring month end accounting transactions and reconciliations for: cash, revenue/AR, fixed assets, prepaid assets, accrued liabilities and expenses

·         Prepare and submit client invoices

·         Create and maintain spreadsheets, scan and file key accounting documents, communicate effectively with internal clients
