Girls in Tech Presents: A Social Innovation Hackathon

Join Girls in Tech on Saturday and Sunday, November 2-3, for their annual social innovation hackathon, Hacking for Humanity. You will be ideating, building, and finally pitching a solution to solve a local Bay Area issue by the end of the event. You'll get hands-on experience with participating in a hackathon, make friends, network, and be a part of a community. This year, we’re focusing on tackling topics that deal with local San Francisco/Bay Area issues such as (but not limited to) the following:

- Homelessness
- Affordable Housing
- Economic Disparity
- Transportation

What is Hacking for Humanity?

Hacking for Humanity is a 2-day code-a-thon where developers, designers, scientists, students, entrepreneurs, educators, and mentors work together to build solutions that solve social problems. Our hackathon is beginner-friendly and offers something for everyone: no coding experience required! This is an opportunity for you to come together with others to give back and create something for your community. When communities work together, they don’t just do good —they become a force for global change.

We are calling all women and men across the globe, including developers, designers, product developers, and entrepreneurs, plus businesses that want to embrace the idea of Social Innovation or initiatives that combine a positive mission with business.

This hackathon is beginner friendly and for participants new to coding or hackathons. However, any and all levels are welcome. You can come with your own team (no more than 5 per team). No team? No problem - we'll figure that out for you. Form a team, solve a problem, create something awesome, present it to the audience and win prizes!

As a special just for ReBoot Accel members, use code REBOOTXGITSF for $10 off ticket price! This code is only good for the first 25 uses.
