The Director of Business Development will develop a pipeline for new business, contribute to new revenue for the firm through client acquisition and build brand awareness for Attivo Partners.
Responsibilities & Duties
Develop a pipeline for new business and be a key contributor to new revenue for the firm through client acquisition.
Cultivate new relationships with intermediaries (venture capitalists, incubators, lawyers, accountants, bankers, and human resource providers) who are in a position to refer Attivo Partners to clients.
Coordinate intermediary relationships that CFOs/partners (& their clients) currently have and help to develop those relationships by setting up a schedule of regular contacts.
Utilize CRM software to track & follow up on leads & relationships
Develop and drive the execution of the firm’s overall marketing strategies that would provide direct outreach to founders/CEOs of venture-backed technology companies in need of outsourced finance accounting services.
Spearhead events both with and without other intermediaries that would provide an opportunity for Attivo CFOs to share advice/expertise on topics of interest to entrepreneurs, founders, and CEOs.
Seek opportunities to co-host and sponsor events to provide opportunities for entrepreneurs, founders, and CEOs to share ideas and stories with each other as well as Attivo professionals.
Assist in the creation of marketing materials. Related to this, manage the update of website and related marketing materials. This would involve direct collaboration and oversight of graphic designers, writers, and other creative personnel.
Develop and maintain a blog, as well as a series of webinars, that would include original articles/thought pieces that are written/discussed by Attivo staff. Provide ideas for topics that would be of interest to founders/entrepreneurs/CEOs based on feedback gleaned in the marketplace. Work with CFOs to ensure a steady schedule of original content pieces.
Curate and maintain Attivo’s overall online presence including that on Linkedin. In addition to original content, provide more regular material by sharing updates on Attivo and articles by other providers that would not only be of interest to founders/entrepreneurs/CEOs but also to the broader start-up ecosystem.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven track record of success in a business development capacity including experience growing revenue through client acquisition.
Entrepreneurial spirit and passion for startups and early-stage growth companies.
Strong communication & interpersonal skills, displaying the ability to connect and build relationships with clients, partners, firm leadership, & peers.
Ability to work independently with a high level of direct responsibility yet collaborate effectively with colleagues when needed.
Excellent organizational and time management skills. Flexible & adaptive.
Strong attention to detail.
Highly motivated and achievement-oriented.
Fast learner with a high degree of curiosity.
Team player with a strong desire to be an active, long-term participant in the growth of the Attivo
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required (finance or technical background preferred, but relationship sales orientation is a must)
MBA/Master’s degree a plus
8+ years of business development experience
Experience working in a fast-paced technology, startup, or professional services environment.
The position will start part-time and could grow into a full-time position. This role is based in the SF Bay Area.
